1. Install Batteries
Remove the 4 screws on the back cover and install 3 “AA” batteries into the battery compartment. The compartment shows indicators for proper battery polarity orientation. Installing the batteries the wrong way will not damage the unit, but it will not operate.
The foam on the inside cover is there to insure the batteries do not lose contact under heavy use.
> Be sure to connect the Transducer before operating the ShockClock.
2. Power
To turn on the ShockClock press and hold the “Power” button. The “Power” and “Temp Calib” lights will go on immediately. After about 3 seconds the “Record” light will go on. When this happens release the “Power” button. The “Record” light will then go out. You are now ready to record.
3. Record
To begin recording press the “Record” button or the Remote Record Switch if you have one and are using it. The “Record” light will flash a few times and begin recording. The Red “Record” light and the Yellow “Temp Calib” light will be on during recording. You may be able to hear the transducer buzz if you listen closely.
Note: If while recording the Green light flickers or goes out altogether, this indicates problems with recording. Go to the troubleshooting section for more information.
4. Remote Record Switch
The Remote Record Switch plugs into the ShockClock and operates the same as the button on the ShockClock. The Switch is setup to control 1 or 2 ShockClocks at the same time.
If required, custom switches can be made to control 3, 4, or more ShockClocks. They should be connected in parallel.
5. Stop Recording
To stop recording, press the Record button again either on the ShockClock or on the Remote Record Switch.
While recording, the ShockClock cannot be turned off.
6. Length of Recording
The ShockClock will record continuously for 18 minutes if you let it. It will not record any further until the memory is erased.
* For the PC - During Download the maximum length of the recording can be limited in Edit, Preferences. No matter what length recording is stored in the ShockClock, the end of the recording will be trimmed to the length set in Preferences. 1 min, 2.5 min, 5 min (default), 10 min, and No Limit are the choices available.
* For the PDA - The PDA Software will automatically limit the actual download to 4 1/2 minutes.
7. Multiple Recordings
The ShockClock can record and hold in memory up to 10 individual recordings (as long as they do not exceed 18 minutes combined recording time).
8. Auto-Erase Memory
ShockClock Software normally erases the ShockClock memory after a successful download. The Software can be set to not automatically erase the ShockClock in "Prefs".
9. Manual Erase Memory
To manually erase the memory hold down the “Temp Calib” button until the light stops flashing.
10. Auto-Off
The Shock will shut itself off after 30 minutes with no activity. If there was a recording stored in the ShockClock the memory is not erased. Power up the ShockClock and download normally.
