Wrap the tubes with masking tape to keep them from fraying.
Cut the tubes with a fine tooth hack saw.
File or grind a small chamfer on the tube's outer edge and deburr the inner edge.
Shorten both Outer and Inner Wave-Guides the same amount to maintain the minimum distance.
The minimum distance from the Transducer Face (gold foil) to the Piston Face is approximately 75 mm (3"). If the minimum distance is violated you will get bad data.
The Piston must never contact the Transducer Face (gold foil) or permanent damage will result.
